Purity Ring is a male/female synth-pop duo, consisting of Megan James and Colin Roddick, based in Montreal, Canada. The Montreal, Canada-based synth-pop duo Purity Ring has released their third album "Womb" on 4AD, their first in five years! The duo has released two albums in the past five years: their 2012 debut "Shrines," which received an 8.4/Best New Music at Pitchfork for its melancholic and introspective dubstep sound, and "Womb," which received rave reviews from Rolling Stone and the New York Times, and was released in 2012. Following their 2015 sophomore effort, "Another Eternity," which received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and the New York Times for its pop and beautiful electronic sound, this is a self-produced album, with production and recording handled entirely by the two artists.The album includes an exhilarating first track, "stardew," which highlights Megan's sparkling vocals over dynamic rhythms and colorful electronic sounds, as well as excellent songs from artists such as fellow label mates Grimes and Church's, which enjoys a strong following in Japan. The album contains a total of 10 tracks.
