Description:
The opening of "Requiem" by French composer Lancino (1954-) is an endless series of heavy blows, as if a huge mallet were swinging down. The requiem, which was written in the 20th century, often delves more into human existence than into religious aspects, and this piece is one form of such a work. The text is by Pascal Kinyar, known as the author of "The Morning After. The work was the result of three years of collaboration with Pascal Quignard, who is known as the author of "The Morning After. In the form of a requiem, they confront the listener with unanswerable questions about death and eternity. Is life "a grand fresco and a sacred ceremony"? Or is it ....... Inbal, the famous conductor who raised music to a higher level with Mahler and Bruckner, gives a lucid performance that seems to shed light on the dark side of human nature. Naxos Japan
