Producer Information
Mar de Frades was founded in 1987 and its history runs parallel to that of Rias Baixas, which acquired its official status as a Denominacin de Origen (DO) in 1988. A pioneering winemaker in the area, Mar de Frades represents the interpretation of the most deep-rooted tradition of Val do Salns, historic birthplace of the Albario varietal. Today, the region is the undisputed capital of Albario, where the most sophisticated and suggestive white wines in Spain are made; wines of characteristic freshness and aromatic intensity.
